| Priced Rs.17,999/- This a best tablet for 3D gaming and high definition movies. The Tegra Note features an all-plastic build, but its back panel has a rubberised finish that makes for decent grisp. Powered by Nvidia's chip, this tab shows no sign of lag while playing heavy 3D games like Real Racing 3 and Frontline Commando.
Its front facing stereo speakers, however are placed on the side of its touchscreen and holding the tablet horizontally blocks these and muffles its sound.
This tab comes with micro-HDMI port, which works well for when you want to watch a movie on a large display. The Tegra Note's display looks bright, but its colours are rather subdued.
Its marker-type stylus is responsive and even pressure sensitive. Unlike the well-supported S pen in the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, this tab comes with just two apps for drawing and writing.
The camera works well in bright settings and comes preinstalled with the Camera Awesome app that lets you choose from various shooting models and creative effects. Its low-resolution VGA front cam doesn't make for clear and crisp chats.
The slate gives decent six hours of non-stop movie time.

LENOVO YOGA TABLET 8
![]() |
| Priced Rs. 21,999/- |
The tablet best for those who want to stay
connected while-on-the move. The Lenovo Yoga 8 sports a cylindrical receptacle
that houses its battery. This also makes it comfortable to grisp when browsing
the web or reading. Besides, it also comprises a metallic kickstand which is
great for hands-free entertainment and video chats.
Even though its 8-inch screen sports an HD
resolution, its low pixel density affects its display quality. Images look
grainy and colors seem over-saturated, and this mars the visual experience.
Overall, the devices works well for basic
browsing and productivity tasks, but it struggles with high quality Full HD
videos and 3D games. Also, its front facing stereo speakers sound muffled, so
its better to use earphones for movies and music.
The Yoga's rear camera is inconveniently placed in
the corner where you are likely to place your hand while taking landscape
shots. Its output, like most tabs in this range lack detail and are only good
enough for sharing on web. Its front cam works well for video chats.
However, with the voice calling, 3G support and a
good battery life of eight hours on continuous video, this tab is a worthy
travel companion.
Technical Specifications:
Display 8-inch IPS
(1280x800px) touchscreen
Processor 1.2GHz quad-core
processor
RAM 1GB
Memory 16GB (internal),
can be exanded upto 64GB via microSD
Camera 5MP rear cam,

ACER ICONIA W4 Windows tablet
| Priced Rs. 26,999/- |
Acer Iconia W4, a windows tablet best for those who want the familiarity of the windows user interface.
This windows tablet comes with a bright touch-screen with great viewing angles; colors look rich and vibrant. However, in the windows desktop mode, icons and text appear really small and tend to be a pain to select and edit. This is not the case while navigating the titled interface.
Powered by an Intel Atom quad-core chip, the W4 handles 3D games and Full HD movies without slutter and it even features a micro HDMI port. The w4, like all windows-based devices, is able to play only popular file formats like WMA, MP3, WAV and AVI. For additional support, you'll need to install a third party media players.
The slate also comes with USB OTG support, so you can plug in a pen drive and tranfer files directly. Infact, you can also use your data dongles with the tablet.
The W4 comes pre-loaded with Acer's cloud storage services as well as Microsoft's Office Home and Student 2013 productivity suite. Besides, you also get tight integration with OneDrive (formerly SkyDrive) that allows you to save documents to your online account with a fuss.
The rear camera produces shots that lack detail due to image compression. The front cam works decently for video chat, but only in well-lit environments. The W4 can give a commendable six hours of continuous video playback on single charge.

APPLE's IPAD AIR
![]() |
| Priced Rs. 35,900+/- |
This is a best tablet for those who are willing to spend that extra bit for a premium tablet with built-in-class Apps.
The new iPad Air is a light weight slate that sports a brushed metal, aluminium build. And like older versions, this one also sports a single button interface making it simple to use. Besides, its intuitive iOS7 operating system is backed by a store that's filled with almost four lakh apps(games, education, productivity and services) that are optimised for the tablet.
The Air's crisp is one of the finest we've seen, making it ideal for movies, reading and games. This tab has the best stereo speakers-clear audio with a hint of bass-when compared to the others tested here. Even though the tablet can play Full HD flicks effortlessly, out of the box it only supports MP4 and MOV files. So, you will first need to convert videos to a compatible format.
Unlike the plug-and-play of Android, it is mandatory to use iTunes to update and sync content between your PC and the Air and this can prove to be quite a cumbersome exercise. This Apple slate does not include a memory card slot, so you'll want to opt for greater storage if you want to store movies and songs on it.
Pictures taken with the rear camera works well for video calling. you can either go with Apple's FaceTime app, which is very effective, but restricted to Apple users only-or you could opt for other video-calling apps, including Skype available on the App store.
The battery on the WiFi version gave us a commendable eight hours of video. If you opt for the 3G model, it would differ depending on usage.
Technical Specifications:
Display 9.7-inch IPS(2048x1536px) touchscreen
Processor 1.4GHz dual core processor
Storage Memory 16/32/64/128GB (internal storage)
Camera 5MP rear cam, 1.2MP front cam
Connectivity options Wi-Fi, Bluetooth
OS iOS 7

Hewlett Packard (HP) delivers mega ‘voice tablets’ in India
HP today declared a new line of “voice tablets” with 6-inch and 7-inch display screens in India. The firm plans to introduce these devices in coming February.
These devices will be marking HP's return to the smartphone market after it slashed out the customer device world in 2011. The Company then bounced back into the tablet market, but chief executive Meg Whitman had stated earlier in october 2012 that the company was taking its time on phone segment.
The new devices Slate6 VoiceTab and Slate7 Voice Tab are capable of displaying high-definition videos, take High Definition pictures with front- and rear-facing cameras and have front-facing speakers.
The major accent of this annoucement is the interest that manufacturers have shown in making phone-tablet hybrids to appeal the consumers.
Ron Coughlin the senior vice president of Consumer Personal Systems Group for HP said that, “Consumers are looking to consolidate their phones and tablets, which is propelling the voice tablet market."
These phone-tablet hybrids, often referred as "Phablets", are rapidly gaining ground as people use their phones more for watching video and surfing the Web than making calls.
